Intelligent communications solutions connecting communities across the globe

Australian-born, global hardware and communications company, Powertec Telecommunications, is optimising connectivity far and wide with its low-cost, smart technology solutions.

From humble beginnings in 1995 on the Gold Coast, the company has grown into an international operation with offices across Australia in New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland, the Northern Territory and New Zealand.

Founder and CEO, Raymond Smith, formed Powertec after recognising a gap in the market for low-cost landline to mobile solution providers in the Australian telecommunications landscape.

Mr Smith said that the driving force for the development of the business was to deliver individuals and businesses with solutions to help stay connected.

“Our wireless communication products and solutions aim to make a difference in people’s lives and ensure that they can communicate and be connected no matter where they may be,” he said.

“The products we offer are intelligent, reliable and durable for optimal connectivity and best possible performance.”

Powertec’s impressive portfolio of with distributers including Nextivity, Altai Technologies, Robustel, Matrix, 2N and Talariax, with the company’s commitment to its partners and manufacturers securing exclusive distributorship in Australia for many complementary products that have attracted over 2,000 resellers and retailers, as well as international shipping capability to many countries.

In 2012, the company teamed up with Nextivity Inc. – a leading developer of indoor coverage technology – becoming the Australia Pacific distributor of Cel-Fi mobile smart repeaters; a first of its kind consumer product to be approved by all mobile carriers in Australia and New Zealand.

“Powertec’s product reliability and onboard intelligence is the reason our network continues to grow and we’re able to offer effective wireless coverage and technology solutions in addition to products that work in harmony with cellular networks,” said Mr Smith.

“Thanks to Powertec’s innovative solutions, there are now thousands of sites and users with access to high speed data where it was previously not possible.”

“It’s an exciting time to be in this industry, watching the enhancement of technology unfold as we maintain our commitment to be the leading distributor of specialty communications products,” he added.

Powertec today supplies mobile carriers, large multinational companies, government departments, defence, emergency services, small to medium sized businesses and individuals with its breadth of hardware solutions enhancing the ability to communicate.
