Loddon Mallee sheep farmers looking to get the most from grazing their crops are being encouraged to get along to one of two free expert workshops being held in Boort and Echuca.
The growing and grazing cereals workshops will give farmers more information about crop selection and grazing management.
The workshops will feature Irrigated Cropping Council consultant and trials manager Damian Jones who has worked with growers from across Victoria on grazing cereals and canola, and conducted extensive trial work across the irrigation districts.
Information will be presented on variety selection, grazing potential and management.
Both are morning workshops, starting at 9 o’clock and finishing at 12 with lunch provided.
The dates are Boort 14 March 2017 at the Railway Hotel, and Echuca 15 March 2017 at the department’s Echuca office on the corner of Annesley Street and Ogilvie Avenue.
The local BestWoolBestLamb network groups are hosting the workshops, with support from Agriculture Victoria.
